- Living in Miami is effing expensive (even more so than previously expected)
- There are fees for just about EVERYTHING in these apartments. I mean ... parking, dogs, fobs, sunlight, oxygen. OK maybe not the last two but still.
- South Beach is the new Europe
- I really need to learn Spanish, like that's not a joke
- Siri only fails you at the most inopportune times
- Getting anywhere in this place takes twice as long as you (or Siri) plans
But in between looking at roughly 10 apartments (spanning from Plantation to Brickell to South Beach), we managed to have some fun.
Def. not like Georgia beaches
A view from a South Beach studio that we looked at
So after all the apartment hunting, we went back to the hotel, opened a bottle of wine and made spreadsheets.

AND the winner is ... the Yacht Club at Brickell ... it was the first one we looked at online and the last one we visited. But it's by far the best fit for us.
Though it's the most expensive - and SMACK dab in the middle of the business district of downtown Miami - it was also closest to Josh's job. It just made sense.
All of the prices were close - once all the fees were added - but the proximity is too good to pass up. Plus it has some amazing ammentities and views. Let's take a look:

Love it! You can see Josh's bridge from the balcony!
Here are some others:
Our hood
Hot tub and pool area
Part of the gym. They have a racketball court, tennnis court, spa/sauna plus the pool
Common area (yes there is a fee to maintain it!)
Another hood shot
So that decision is made but we still have a ton to do. Paper work, doggie documentation, money to send (of course) and packing. We hope to roll out around Thursday.
Wish us luck!
